Alfa Romeo Touring Superleggera Disco Volante
Touring's Alfa Romeo Disco Volante is a two-seater coupe with a mid-front engine and rear transaxle transmission.
Presented at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show as a full-scale model, it is inspired by the 1952 Alfa Romeo C52 designed by Touring, a design icon, so innovative that it influenced numerous famous sports and racing cars in the decades to come.
The excellent Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione provides the chassis, transmission and all electronic systems. The end result combines power and elegance in a car destined to mark another Touring milestone in automotive history.
Following the creed of our founder of "Weight is the enemy, air resistance the obstacle", the shape of the Flying Saucer has been refined to be "insensitive to the wind". With its light and rigid structure, the compact 4.7-liter 450hp V8 engine coupled to a sequential steering wheel shift, with limited slip differential and double wishbone suspension, offers extraordinary performance along with a precise, dynamic drive and proactive.
